We Have Fun

Miss Lucy is already one month old.
She is so cute I almost can't stand it!
[Yes, Van Buren is again the "growth chart bear"]

Ava had a license plate on her door, but I couldn't find one with "Lucy" on it. Thankfully they make these cute little kits that allow you to personalize a plate. Now the girls have matching doors!

Ava got new summer jammies. They have monkeys.
This is just before bed, so yes, those are her very sleepy eyes.

And Miss Ava knows how to be a fantastic big sister and teach little sister all about playing outside. They are so sweet...Ava jabbers to Lucy, and Lucy smiles at Ava.

Love my girls, so much!

Little Girls

These two girls are so amazing.

Ava loves to kiss Lucy,
talk about everything Lucy does,

and make sure Lucy is never cold.

I love the fact that these two get to grow up together and are so close in age.

May they desire a personal relationship with Jesus, to magnify Him with their lives!

"Teach me Your way, O LORD;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore."
Psalm 86:10-12

Life as We Know It

Last week we enjoyed time out-of-doors, doing yard work and letting the girls get some fresh air.
{I love saying "the girls"}Miss Lucy did her sweet little 2-week-old thing
...and Miss Ava did her sweet little 19 1/2-month-old thing.

Then we headed into a crazy 4-day weekend that involved me never remembering a camera except for one picture to remember the utter chaos that involves hardly being home and shuffling belongings around to so many various places.
Real life is awesome.

Pink Nails

Practically Summer...

Lucy did what she does best...Ava did what she does best...

...and because I can't get enough of this darling, amazing baby...

Practice makes Perfect!

Miss Ava loves to practice washing dishes!

Mother's Day

My darling girls:

All of us together:

I was blessed today to remember that I am mom of 3 precious ones, and to dwell in the hope of Christ Almighty!
"For surely there is a hereafter,
And your hope will not be cut off."
Proverbs 23:18

Bath Time

Half naked baby...so cute!
Lucy loved the warm water.

All clean!

She smiled at me! And I caught it on camera!

Meanwhile, Ava and daddy were getting pajamas on...

Scott likes to say he is preparing me for when Ava dresses herself. I think he just gets a kick out of crazy outfits! Either way, I love it!

Lucy Mae

I went into steady labor around 11:00pm on April 30th, and we headed to the hospital around 4:00am on May 1st.
Here's the last official pregnant picture:
I was progressing well, and was given some Pitocin around 8am.
By 9:45 I was ready to push, and three pushes later our second beautiful daughter was born, arriving at 9:56am!
Our sweet Lucy weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Dark hair, deep blue eyes.

Ava calls her "Woocy", and gets sad when little sister cries. Over all, Ava seems to be adjusting quite well. Granted, she does get jealous and naughty, but for the most part things have been a smooth transition with being home.

We love having two daughters!

Welcome to our family, Miss Lucy.
Part of Psalm 1, your "birthday Psalm", reads:
"Blessed is the man (woman)
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his (her) delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he (she) meditates day and night."
This is our prayer for you, Lucy, that you will be a woman who loves God, and wholly gives your life and heart to Him.
