Quiche (English pronunciation: /ˈkiːʃ/; keesh) is a savory, open-faced pastry crust pie with a savory custard filling of cheese, meat and vegetables. The quiche is sometimes regarded as the savory equivalent of custard tart.

With green pepper and onion for extra flavor and nutrition, it was a big hit for supper tonight!

Supper 2/27

Tonight's recipe was a winner! Found in a cookbook we picked up at TJMaxx (also sold on Amazon.com), it brilliantly combines vegetables with massive amounts of cheese for incredible flavor.
Tortillas toasted, topped with swiss cheese. (The recipe called for pitas, which I didn't have. The tortillas substituted well.) Then mashed avocado. Then tuna salad with grated carrot and swiss cheese in it. Then more cheese on top, sprinkle on some thyme, and toast again.
It was so good!

Last Week

Valentine's Day was sweet.
My hubby made me a bouquet of my favorite candy. :)
(The pink cookies in the background I made for him to take to work.)

The night of the 14th Ava had a fever, which isn't uncommon when she gets a cold or is extra tired. All day Wednesday she kept declining, and I found a rash I initially thought was hives, then chicken pox, and finally I realized was hives. Combined with the fever it was a recipe for strep throat, so a visit to the doctor was in order on Thursday.
Miss Ava had a virus that left her with a fever and hives. Thankfully no strep, and she got through it with a couple doses of Tylenol. (I think she almost enjoyed it simply because she got to take so many oatmeal baths.)
We all spent a few days in various states of exhaustion. Sick Ava is tired, grumpy, clingy, and pretty whiny. I'm glad to care for her, but I was thrilled when the amazing daddy would come home and spend time with his little girls.
Ava recovered and is back to her cheerful self!
This last weekend it warmed up enough to be outside. We all love being outside, and the girls couldn't get enough fresh air and sunshine!

Right now I'm working on some major spring cleaning.
This last week was filled with organization.
We moved almost 2 years ago.
I think we put things where they fit, but are only now evaluating what we need and how to optimize our space.
It's been fun because I love organizing and cleaning, but it's a big job to keep out unnecessary clutter!
I'm prioritizing.
More time with children than cleaning is definitely better! I have to allow myself to walk away from a project, to time when I start things so I can put importance on my family when they need me most.

Let me leave you with this:

" Then we will no longer be little children, tossed and carried about by all kinds of teachings that change like the wind. We will no longer be influenced by people who use cunning and clever strategies to lead us astray. Instead, as we lovingly speak the truth, we will grow up completely in our relationship to Christ, who is the head. He makes the whole body fit together and unites it through the support of every joint. As each and every part does its job, he makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. "

"I have dee-wish-us coffee!" After nesting two squares together and proceeding to "drink" from them.

Dreamily, while eating, "Oh, ketchup. Nummy, nummy ketchup! I love this ketchup"
