August in Pictures {1}

Welcome to August!
Wow, another month that flew by.
Time moves so quickly; my greatest thought is that I make the best of every minute I have.
Here is the first 2 weeks in pictures:

Babycakes is very playful! I think you'll see that throughout this post.

Lucy uses crocs as boats for her play people. Ha!

 What a great big sister!

Ballerinas!

Five Months Old!

This is how you spend an afternoon with Mom!

Daddy's shirts for bed. Love!

[More to come!]

Littlest

The littlest Sister is so loved.
Her big sisters look after her and want to help in any way they can.

She loves her big sisters, too.

Play

The girls made a bed, then had a sleepover with their bears.
Love it!

In One Year

Out of curiousity (and maybe a little nostalgia) I looked at pictures from one year ago.
I was blown away by how much the girls have changed in one year!

Here is February 2012:

 ......................................................................................
One year ago,
Lucy didn't even have teeth,
could only crawl,
and had barely enough hair in front for a tiny barrette.

Now she runs,
dresses up,
wears hair bows and pigtails,
and has lots of teeth in her cute little grin.

 One year ago,
Ava was just learning her alphabet,
her hair fit into a clip,
the most complicated thing to learn was potty training,
and she was obsessed with Thomas the Train.

Now she is learning basic phonics and writing letters and numbers,
her hair falls to her waist,
she loves to tell big, expounded stories,
we answer questions like, "are there night monsters?",
and she still loves Thomas, but Strawberry Shortcake too.

It is amazing what changes in one year.
It has been a good year.
Now they are sisters that have tea parties and are princesses and play silly with bears
and learn verses together and wake up and go crazy together.
They are growing up, and I wouldn't miss this life for anything.

Leaves

 Throw the leaves.
Sit in the leaves

Rake them back up.

 Scatter again.

 Carry them around.
Build a Lucy nest.

Sunday Morning

Both girls have been made beautiful, special dresses by their aunts for their First Birthdays.
These aunts are very clever, and made Ava's wide, and the hem to be let out so she could wear it a while.
Lucy just got hers, and so I wondered if it would be possible to have them both wear these dresses simultaneously.

I decided to put in a little effort so this once-in-a-lifetime chance wouldn't be missed.
The Girls were able to wear their First Birthday dresses at the same time.
They even stood still and smiled at the same time for me-I was tickled pink by this occurance!

Thank you, dear Aunts, for the lovely dresses!

Girls will be girls.

Because she's that awesome.

I pulled out the camera, she pulled out her funny faces.

And since I know you won't guess what we made with the play-dough, I'll tell you.
They're chocolates.
The gourmet kind.

Ava telling Lucy all about something.

She found a pocket New Testament.
I heard all about how we read about Jesus and water in the Bible.
 "Look, mommy, this is BLUE."
(She's figuring out how to enunciate the "L" sound, rather that say the "W" sound. Blue is one of her new favorite words to carefully enunciate.)

A Special Baby Shower

This baby shower was for my beautiful little sister.
It was so, so special to throw her and the sweet little boy on the way a party!

The colors were brown and blue, the colors being used in the nursery.

Ava picked out a special bear to be a cousin for her Mr. Sanders.
Ava is very excited to be getting a cousin!
 Lots of yummy food!
I didn't get many pictures of the actual event. I really did mean to!
I do know that M&Z got lots of things they needed for the baby and they are ready.
I can't wait to meet this special little man in just a few short weeks!
