Arm Update

Scott's arm was set on Friday, but today he is still very tired and lacking energy or appetite.
Of course, his body is dealing with major trauma.

Right now the prayer request is that his arm will heal properly. And please pray that he would not be too discouraged; it is hard for him to 1.be away from work where he has many projects going and 2. not be able to really hold the girls. (My anniversary gift may be getting a proper two armed hug!!)

{There is a family we know with 5 small children, and their daddy is dealing with a major break in his foot/leg. Please pray for them as well right now (his name is Nate).}

Left Arm

Yesterday (Saturday) we traveled to one of our favorite annual events, a tackle football game that involves many friends.
While playing Scott was tackled and his left arm was hit hard, which resulted in a broken bone.
The hospital recommended an orthopedic specialist, with whom we will meet tomorrow (Monday). Scott's arm is splinted, and he is resting and over all feeling well. The pain meds are doing their job so he is reasonably comfortable.
{here is his arm}
I will keep you all updated as we know what will happen, and we thank you for praying!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Golden Carpet

The leaves are incredibly beautiful.

[The driveway was completely covered this afternoon.]

God has created such beauty!

Six Months Old

She can sit up,
rolls back to front and front to back,
only scoots backward in her walker,
loves the Johnny-Jump-Up,
likes playing with daddy's beard as he rocks her to sleep,
adores peekaboo with Big Sister,
has a funny little chuckle,
wiggles when she is pleased with something,
smiles SO big,
nom-noms every single thing,
and loves to cuddle.
Miss Lucy is a sweet darling little baby!

November

I can't believe we are almost through the year. Time goes so quickly!

I've been changing and adding fall decor. I certainly enjoy seeing how other ladies decorate their homes for seasons, and thought I'd share with you too.

First, natural (dead) leaves. They're prettier fresh off the tree, but really, who thinks about changing them before taking a photo? Anyway, you'll get the idea. :)

My banner, and chalkboard with a saying appropriate for the season. It comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

A verse appropriate for every season, and one I have been thankful for to remind me.

The dining table:
My cloth is stylishly short with the leaves in. (Okay, so I might be making up the "stylishly" part. I still like it!)

Guests for dinner brought a lovely hostess gift:

I love the contrast and texture of the burlap runner (cut from a feed sack) with the wooden crate against the bright tablecloth.

I so far have skipped the pumpkins this year and just added a cute little scarecrow and non-traditional square branch wreath to the outside.

I adore the maple tree in the front. It turns everything to gold in the fall!

Have a wonderful month of Thanksgiving!
